About Me
Hi, I’m Siqi Lu! I'm currently a Master's student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Vanderbilt University. I have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My work spans from developing smart consumer products to cutting-edge research in biomedical imaging, remote sensing, and machine learning. I'm passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems and love working in collaborative environments.
Projects
Smart Mug Design
- Date: Jan 2023 – May 2023
- Description: Designed a smart mug with precise temperature control. Created and simulated circuits, soldered components onto a PCB, and programmed a microcontroller using Arduino. The result was a user-friendly, market-ready product.
Virtual Zoo AR Experience
- Date: Mar 2024 – May 2024
- Description: Built an educational AR app using Unity and Vuforia. The app brings a virtual zoo to life with animations, sound simulations, and interactive features for Android devices.
Foundation Models for Remote Sensing
- Date: Apr 2024 – Present
- Description: Conducted a review of 59 foundation models in remote sensing, categorized them, and evaluated their performance. Contributed to a paper for IEEE journals on advancements and trends in the field. (Under review by IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Magzine)

Nuclei Segmentation in Kidney Pathology
- Date: Feb 2024 – Present
- Description: Worked on nuclei segmentation for kidney pathology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Improved model accuracy through image annotation and prediction analysis.
